Not every question is an interesting question.

Today I’m going to be blunt. If you answer “interesting question” to every question that you’re asked, you make yourself not interesting. In a similar way, not every question is “great”.

You may think that you are being polite and buying yourself time, but in reality, you are making yourself look unprepared.

I have even heard “Great question” in response to the “Tell me about yourself” question in an interview. I was not impressed.

To most interview questions, you should have your answer prepared in advance. Take the time to properly prepare for behavioral interview questions and think of interesting questions to ask in an informational interview.  Have your elevator pitch ready to tell people about yourself in an interesting way.

You do not want to be memorably boring. You want to leave a positive impression; you want the other side to have enjoyed talking with you.
