I feel like I am in a science fiction movie

I feel like I am in a science fiction movie. Really, a few months ago did you imagine us all working from home, walking around in masks, practicing social distancing? Our world has changed. The past weeks, for some months now, have been nothing but crazy.
But this is our new reality.

How are you doing?
Are you managing to stay positive?
Like most of us, it has been up and down for me. Some especially stressful moments (being sick), moments of deep sadness reading the news and watching the death toll rising, and thoughts about when I will see my kids next.

I am actively making sure to focus on the positive.

 I am thankful.
Thankful that my family is healthy and safe, even if we are not all together.
I have immense gratitude to our healthcare workers and the work they are doing under horrid conditions.
I am grateful for the supermarket workers and the people shopping and delivering groceries to my house.
I am also thankful for the community around me, and love seeing different communities around the world helping each other like never before.

We are all feeling fragile. Not much is certain in our current lives.
The economy has changed. Executives are having to make difficult decisions under tight time constraints. For many, demands on their time is overwhelming as they struggle to fill multiple roles at a different scale than ever before, working, cooking, cleaning, parenting, teaching different grade levels etc. Many women feel like they are losing themselves.

Now, more than ever, I feel that helping others is the way we help ourselves.

I have been sewing masks for healthcare workers, family, and friends, with neighbors sharing available materials among us.
I am thankful for the time I spend with my coachees, helping them deal with these unprecedented times. Our work together inspires me.

I urge you to take the time to think about what you are thankful for. What is positive in your life?
Who can you reach out to to help?
